We're often warned about the dangers of high density altitude, but we need a clear process to determine if we can perform a safe departure. Obstacle departure procedures (ODPs) help define what a "safe departure" means by providing performance benchmarks and routes over terrain. This safety seminar is open to all members and aviation enthusiasts. Whether you're VFR or IFR, ODPs can guide go/no-go decisions and departure plans. In this seminar they will share the reasons why they embarked on a seaplane rating.
